2018 Ford Super Duty Review

Take on tasks like you never have before, with the 2018 Ford Super Duty. The powerful Ford F-Series has been serving drivers in Lewisville, Denton, and Grapevine for decades, and the new Ford Super Duty is here to do just that.

This model year includes a new F-450 4×2 model, with incredible towing capabilities we’ll discuss in the sections below. This full review takes a closer look at all of your options when driving the Super Duty, a truck capable of handling the toughest of jobs year-round, day in and day out.

Super Duty Performance

The turbo diesel engine uses a smart exhaust brake function, capable of slowing the vehicle when heading downhill, regardless of the load or road grade. The available Adaptive Cruise Control technology is able to slow the Super Duty down when traffic ahead comes to a halt. Collision Warning/Brake Support precharges the brakes for complete responsiveness, too.

Towing Tech and Capability

This a highly capable heavy-duty pickup, to say the least. The 2018 Ford Super Duty offers 7,630-pound maximum payload, and 21,000-pound conventional tow ratings. When it’s properly configured, the maximum 27,500-pound 5th-wheel and 34,000-pound gooseneck tow ratings offer owners the ability to get big-time towing jobs done. The Super Duty F-450 4×2 offers the 34,000-pound max towing capability.

Of course, it’s more than just towing. The Ford Super Duty has plenty of tech features which are making towing easier than it’s ever been. The available Trailer Reverse Guidance enhances your visibility, with cameras in the sideview mirrors and center-console visual guidance. You’ll be able to see where the trailer is moving as the steering wheel moves. The Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring System monitors tire pressures on the connected trailer and will let you know if pressure is low.

Inside the Cabin

There are numerous helpful features drivers can explore in the well-appointed cabin. In Crew Cab models, under-seat storage can fold into the floor when not being used for a flat load floor. There are a pair of globe boxes with unique upper compartment areas for additional storage space. The deep front center console is even big enough for file folders.

Control calls, music and more with just your voice. The SYNC® 3 system lets you keep your hands on the wheel while spoken requests are taken care of. Use Android Auto™ or Apple CarPlay™ to link your smartphone to the touchscreen and interact with your favorite apps.
